Digital Nomad’s Guide to Florence
Florence is my favourite city in Italy, and almost Pythagorean in its urban composition and cleanliness. It’s abounding with art and culture, and features an excellent vegan food scene.
Coffee Shops
Ditta Artigianale
Via dello Sprone, 5/R, 50125 Firenze
A charming cafe right by the city’s canal, apparently popular with local students.

Ozio Bistro
Borgo Ognissanti, 34/R, 50123 Firenze FI
One could hardly ask for a cozier morning or brunch café. Also, it has some vegan food and drink options.

Restaurants
BABAE
Via Santo Spirito, 21R, 50125 Firenze FI
Beautiful, verdant restaurant cafe that’s not entirely vegan, but extremely vegan friendly.

BRAC

An independent bookstore with a premium quality vegetarian restaurant attached.

Parks and Recreation
Uffizi Galleries
Piazzale degli Uffizi, 6, 50122 Firenze FI
A massive, sprawling museum with works by Michelangelo, Da Vinci, Rembrandt, Caravaggio, and others. It’s too big to take in all at once, and can be so overwhelming that some travellers experience “Florence Syndrome”.

House of Dante
Museo Casa di Dante, Via Santa Margherita, 1, 50122 Firenze FI
A small, and admittedly not mind-blowing museum. But for fans of The Divine Comedy and Florence’s most famous son, this is an essential stop.

Drugs and Alcohol
Alcohol: Legal drinking age in Italy is 18.
Cannabis: Personal recreational cannabis use is decriminalized.
Psychedelics: Possession and/or sale of the usual suspects appears to be illegal.
