Digital Nomad’s Guide to Buenos Aires

Window photograph of downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina, with many tall buildings and blue sky.

Buenos Aires has a shockingly impressive plant-based food scene. Its selection of 100% vegan restaurants and cafes is vast and varied, ranging from the super fancy to the homely and DIY. They’re also really into cooking with mushrooms.

Coffee Shops

Veganius

Godoy Cruz 2341, C1425 Cdad. Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina

I have to give Veganius top billing, because it was my go-to coffee shop while in BA. Excellent coffee, baked goods, and lunch options. Friendly staff. 100% vegan.

Restaurants

Artemisia

Costa Rica 5893 Esquina, Dr. Emilio Ravignani, C1414 Buenos Aires, Argentina

Though vegetarian and not strictly vegan, this was my favourite restaurant in Buenos Aires. High quality food. Stylish but chill ambience.

Puerta

Soler 4501, C1425 Cdad. Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina

Also a very cool, very Palermo vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. Great spot for lunch or dinner.

Gioia

Posadas 1350, C1011ABH Cdad. Autónoma de Buenos Aires, Argentina

Maybe the fanciest plant-based restaurant I’ve ever experienced. Pricey, but superb. All about the small plates.

Colourful selection of healthy-looking small plates of food.
